Dr. Jesse Young is an Adjunct Associate Professor in the School of Population and Global Health at the University of Western Australia. His research examines mental health outcomes, substance use disorders, and health service utilization among vulnerable populations, particularly justice-involved individuals.
Research interests include psychiatric epidemiology, health service delivery for marginalized groups, data linkage methodologies, and interventions to reduce health disparities. Current projects analyze ambulance service utilization patterns for mental health crises and mortality risks among justice-involved youth.
Dr. Young leads studies employing population-wide data linkage to track health outcomes and service pathways. His work contributes to evidence-based policies for improving mental health support systems and reducing preventable deaths in high-risk populations.
