Jesse Saunders

Jesse Saunders is a Lecturer in the Physical Education and Recreation department at Gallaudet University's Human Services and Sciences school. He teaches a full course load while directing the Personal Discovery Program and Rock Climbing Gym, focusing on outdoor experiential learning and recreation activities. With a B.A. in History from Gallaudet (2002) and a master's in Educational Leadership, he has served the university since 1998 in various roles including Coordinator of Residence Education and Manager of Youth Programs (2012-2023). His work emphasizes experiential education through wilderness adventures, youth competitions, and campus-wide collaboration.

Current courses include: Outdoor Experiential Learning (PER-201), Event Planning and Management (PER-350), and Examine/Explore Seminars (VEE-101/102). He has managed national youth programs like the Academic Bowl and Battle of the Books, and maintains a 2025-present advising load of 3 undergraduate students.
