Jess Macbeth

Dr. Jess Macbeth is a Senior Lecturer in Sports Studies at the University of Central Lancashire’s School of Health, Social Work and Sport. Her research focuses on disability sport, particularly visually impaired athletes, exploring classification systems, equity issues, and participation barriers. She teaches sociology of sport and physical education with an emphasis on gender and disability equity. A Research Degree Tutor, she supervises postgraduate researchers and advocates for inclusive sport policies. Her work addresses challenges faced by disabled athletes and women in sports, contributing to debates on fair classification and accessibility.
