Jesper Hallas is Professor of Clinical Pharmacology at the University of Southern Denmark's Department of Public Health, where he leads pharmacoepidemiological research. He established the Odense University Pharmacoepidemiologic Database (OPED) in 1990, enabling comprehensive prescription drug tracking for 1.2 million Southern Danes.
