Jesilyn Faust is a Lecturer in the Department of Political Science at Santa Clara University's College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of California, Santa Barbara (2022), and M.A. and B.A. degrees from California State University, Long Beach (2015 & 2013). Her research focuses on the gendered dimensions of revolutionary movements and human rights, particularly examining women’s resistance to imperial structures across regions like Morocco and the Philippines. She has published on gendered social movements, violence against women, and marriage practices.
Her current project, The Gendered Logics of Resistance, analyzes how women construct political and economic frameworks to counter oppressive systems. As a former Boren Fellow, she has demonstrated expertise in transnational gender politics. Faust teaches courses in politics and international relations, emphasizing critical engagement with global power dynamics.
