Jerry L. Mize is a Full-time Term Instructor and Online Undergraduate Program Coordinator in the Department of Psychology at George Mason University. He holds an MA in Applied Developmental Psychology from George Mason University and an MEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The College of William & Mary. He is a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Resident in Counseling in Virginia.
His research and clinical interests focus on trauma, anxiety, sex/sexuality, identity exploration, telehealth, and accessibility to mental health resources. He has taught courses ranging from Intro Psychology to Psychopathology, emphasizing practical application and accessibility in both online and traditional formats.
He has presented at conferences such as the American Counseling Association (ACA) Annual Conference on telehealth lessons from the pandemic. His academic journey includes a Graduate Research Fellowship at William & Mary and ongoing doctoral studies in Counselor Education & Supervision at University of the Cumberlands.
