Jeroen Rheinfeld

Prof. Jeroen Rheinfeld holds the endowed professorship of Rural Law at the University of Groningen's Faculty of Law and teaches rural law at Radboud University. His expertise focuses on agricultural law, particularly land and tenancy law, with an emphasis on notarial and fiscal practices. He serves as an associate at FBN Legal Advice and the Institute of Agricultural Law. His recent work addresses legal challenges in land consolidation, tax compliance for agricultural inheritances, and rural development policies.

Research interests span agricultural legislation, property rights, and fiscal implications for rural stakeholders. Notable publications include analyses of landmark legal cases and policy frameworks for land restructuring. He has been featured in media commentary on issues like AI in crop advice and conflicts between urbanization and biodiversity.

Prof. Rheinfeld received the Biennial prix d’Honneur du C.E.D.R. in 2014 for contributions to agricultural law. He actively engages in editorial work for legal publications including Kluwer and the Journal of Rural Law.
