Jeremy P. Thornton

Jeremy P. Thornton is a Professor of Economics at Samford University's Brock School of Business. He holds the Dwight Moody Beeson Chair of Business and serves as Associate Dean. His academic work focuses on nonprofit organizations, philanthropy, and economic development.

Research interests include:

• Market competition and governance in nonprofit organizations
• Incentive structures for philanthropic giving
• International economic development
• Microenterprise programs in Latin America

He directs Samford's Social Entrepreneurship Program, which was recognized with the National Outstanding Emerging Entrepreneurship Program award by the U.S. Association of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE).
