Jeremy B. Lefkowitz is Associate Professor of Classics at Swarthmore College, specializing in Greek and Latin literature, mythology, and the ancient fable tradition. A Rome Prize Fellow and Senior Associate Member of the American School of Classical Studies in Athens.
His research examines narrative strategies in ancient texts, particularly the Aesopic corpus and Aristophanic comedy. Current projects analyze representations of slavery, freedom, and storytelling in the Life of Aesop, and stylistic features of fables in the Progymnasmata. He explores how ancient texts represent cultural identities and power dynamics.
