Dr. Jeremy J. Day is a Professor in the Department of Neurobiology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Heersink School of Medicine. He serves as Vice Chair for Strategic Planning and Recruitment and Director of the Comprehensive Neuroscience Center. His research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms in brain circuits regulating motivated behavior and addiction.
Dr. Day received his Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina and completed postdoctoral training at UAB, where he joined the faculty in 2014. His lab employs multidisciplinary approaches including in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, CRISPR-Cas9 tools, and next-generation sequencing to study activity-dependent epigenetic regulation in neurons.
