Dr Jeremy Filet is a Lecturer in French at the School of English, Manchester Metropolitan University. He holds a French National Qualification for the title of Lecturer in Literature, Linguistics, and Languages, and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His research focuses on the Jacobite diaspora in France from the 18th century to modern cultural impacts, emphasizing the interplay between educational travel and politics via travel narratives as tools of performative diplomacy. He has published extensively on Jacobite studies, Lorraine's role in early modern diplomacy, and travel literature.
