Dr. Jeremy Brice is a Postdoctoral Researcher within the Wellcome Trust-funded Livestock, Environment & People (LEAP) project’s ‘Enabling Change’ team at the University of Oxford. He holds a Visiting Fellowship in Economic Sociology at the London School of Economics (LSE). His research focuses on the role of metrics, benchmarking, and expert knowledge in shaping debates around the sustainability, ethics, and health impacts of intensive animal farming. Key interests include global agri-food systems, environmental and economic transformations in food provisioning, and the governance of risk in transnational supply networks.
His doctoral work explored provenance and quality dynamics in the Australian wine industry, linking economic geographies to viticultural environments. Recent projects at Newcastle University and LSE examined digital platforms’ reconfiguration of urban food systems and crisis anticipation in food supply chains. Research has been supported by the Economic and Social Research Council, British Academy, and Food Standards Agency.
Jeremy’s affiliations include the LEAP project team and the LSE’s Economic Sociology department. His work bridges human geography, sociology, and environmental science, with a focus on interdisciplinary approaches to food systems governance.
