About
Jens Debacker is a Researcher at Ghent University, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy. He holds roles as a Voluntary Post-doctoral Researcher (since 2022) and previously served as Assistant Academic Staff (2018–2022). His research focuses on molecular imaging, cancer immunotherapy, and nanobody-based tracers, with applications in oncology and radiology. He contributes to projects like INTEGRAL (immunotherapy integration) and NLITE (nanobody development).
Key research interests include tumor imaging, targeted radionuclide therapy, and fluorescence-guided surgery. His work spans EGFR-targeted therapies, FAPI receptor imaging, and translational studies in canine and murine cancer models. He has received the Young Investigator Award (2022) and collaborates on projects involving radiopharmaceuticals and immune checkpoint inhibitors.
Debacker’s recent activities include presentations on intraoperative PET in oncology, nanobody tracers in surgery, and clinical trials using [68Ga]Ga-NOTA-anti-MMR-VHH2 for imaging macrophages in cancer and inflammation. He leads efforts in developing theranostic tools bridging imaging and therapy.
