Jens Bockstette

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jens Bockstette serves as Professor of Energy Conversion and Storage at Düsseldorf University of Applied Sciences since 2024, within the Faculty of Electrical Engineering & Information Technology. His career bridges academia and industry with extensive expertise in battery systems, energy storage safety, and renewable energy integration.

His academic foundation includes:

• Electrical Engineering studies at RWTH Aachen University
• Doctoral research on "Lithium-ion batteries combined by current controllers" at RWTH Aachen

Research focuses on cutting-edge energy solutions including battery storage safety, hydrogen systems, sector coupling, and electrification of mobile machinery. His work integrates practical applications in energy-efficient buildings, renewable energy converters, and energy management systems with entrepreneurial approaches to business model development.

Prof. Bockstette maintains strong industry connections through his founding of Futavis GmbH (acquired by Deutz AG), where he served as Managing Director until 2023. Current academic advising is suspended as no theses are currently offered, reflecting his transition to full-time academia.
