Jenny Risher serves as Adjunct Faculty at the College for Creative Studies within the Visual Development program. She is a professional lifestyle and portrait photographer whose work has been commissioned by ad agencies, magazines, publishing companies, celebrities, non-profit organizations, and TV shows.
Her creative research focuses on documentary photography, particularly capturing the cultural essence of Detroit. Notable projects include:
- Heart Soul Detroit: A self-produced book featuring interviews and photographs of 50 iconic Detroiters, including Iggy Pop, Smokey Robinson, Jack White, Dr. Jack Kevorkian, Lily Tomlin, Alice Cooper, Bill Ford Jr, Lee Iacocca, Eminem, and Tim Allen.
- DCYPHERED: A project examining Detroit's undocumented Hip-Hop Community, which was showcased in a seven-month solo exhibit at The Detroit Institute of Arts during 2017-2018.
Her primary fields of interest encompass Photography, Portrait Photography, Lifestyle Photography, Documentary Photography, Urban Culture, and Hip-Hop.
