Dr. Jenny L. McGuire is an Associate Professor at the Georgia Institute of Technology, affiliated with the College of Sciences and the Schools of Biological Sciences and Earth and Atmospheric Sciences. Her research focuses on spatial ecology, biogeography, paleoecology, and conservation biology, integrating paleontological and ecological data to address climate change impacts.

McGuire leads the Spatial Ecology and Paleontology Lab (SEPL), collaborating internationally on projects like the Conservation Paleobiology in Africa initiative and research at Natural Trap Cave. Her lab emphasizes antiracism, equity, and inclusivity in science, actively working to elevate BIPOC voices and expand access to research opportunities.
SEPL has produced notable PhD graduates including Ben Shipley (IBS Doctoral Dissertation Award winner, NSF Postdoctoral Fellow) and Danny Lauer, whose work contributes to conservation strategies. McGuire co-authored five foundational papers on Natural Trap Cave research in the Quaternary International special issue.
