Jennifer Yu, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and Co-Leader of the Developmental Therapeutics Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. She holds an external appointment as Staff in the Department of Cancer Biology at the Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Research Institute.
Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms driving glioblastoma progression, particularly investigating glioma stem cells (GSCs). Key areas of study include:
- GSC co-option of Semaphorin-Neuropilin-Plexin pathways (Sema3C/PlexinA2/PlexinD1)
- HIF-mediated survival mechanisms in hypoxic conditions
- Radiation resistance mechanisms and therapeutic strategies
Her translational research aims to improve glioblastoma treatment through novel therapeutic approaches including thermal therapy, radiation modifications, and radiosensitizing drugs.
