Jennifer Yoos

Jennifer Yoos is a Professor and Department Head of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Interior Design at the University of Minnesota's College of Design. She is an architect, educator, and principal/president of the acclaimed firm VJAA, known for integrating social, cultural, and material contexts into innovative architectural practice.

Her research focuses on four core themes: Environment and Social Space (emphasizing sustainability), Digital Fabrication and Systems Integration (structures, mechanical systems, daylighting), Embodied Intelligence (historic preservation), and Urbanism (contextualizing social programs in architecture). She co-authored two books with Vincent James: Parallel Cities: The Multilevel Metropolis (2016) and a monograph on VJAA's work.

Jennifer teaches design studios and theory seminars, with prior roles at Cooper Union, Washington University in St. Louis, and the University of Arkansas. She is a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP) and NCARB-certified architect.
