Jennifer Wellington is Associate Professor in the School of History at University College Dublin. She specializes in the cultural history of warfare, with particular focus on museum representations, memory studies, and twentieth-century conflicts.
Her research examines how war is represented and remembered through material culture and exhibitions, exploring themes of trauma, commemoration, and national identity across the British Empire. Recent work investigates the display of woundedness in war museums and the iconography of victory.
Publications include the award-winning monograph 'Exhibiting War' and articles analyzing war trophies, memory construction, and museum practices. She has received prestigious prizes including the NUI Publication Prize and is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
Professor Wellington maintains active public engagement through media appearances, festival panels, and contributions to national commemorative projects. She teaches courses on modern European history and war memory.
