Jennifer Weed is Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of New Brunswick, specializing in medieval philosophy with research emphases on Thomas Aquinas, Maimonides, and interfaith philosophical dialogues. She holds a PhD from Saint Louis University (2003) and joined UNB in 2008 following previous academic appointments in Vermont and Toronto.
Research examines intersections of metaphysics, philosophy of religion, and Jewish-Christian philosophical exchanges in medieval contexts. Key publications analyze Aquinas's theological ethics regarding forced conversions, comparative studies of Aquinas and Maimonides, and analogical reasoning in scholastic thought. Regularly teaches courses including History of Philosophy I, Aquinas, and Contemporary Analytic Metaphysics.
As faculty advisor for UNB's undergraduate Hemlock Club, she supports student engagement in philosophy. Professional memberships include the American Catholic Philosophical Association and Société Internationale pour l'Étude de la Philosophie Médiévale.
