Jennifer Rudolph is a Professor in the School of Humanities & Arts at Worcester Polytechnic Institute, where she has led efforts to build China-related programs for STEM students both on campus and internationally. She directs WPI's East Asia Hub (formerly China Hub), co-directs the Hangzhou and Taiwan Project Centers, and advises the Chinese Studies minor.

As a political historian of China and Japan, Professor Rudolph has expanded her research and teaching approach at WPI to integrate science and technology into East Asian historical studies while incorporating China and Japan case studies into STEM curriculum. She strongly values WPI's project-based learning model and implements it across all her courses.
Her scholarly publications focus on making complex China-related issues accessible to general audiences. The two-volume The China Questions series brings together top experts to address critical issues in US-China relations, with the 2022 volume receiving an Honorable Mention for the 2023 Buchanan Prize. Her earlier work examines institutional reform processes in late imperial China.

Professor Rudolph maintains significant professional involvement beyond WPI, serving as executive director of Harvard's Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies and the Harvard China Fund. She is an executive board member of the Urban China Research Network, a fellow at Columbia University's Expanding East Asia Studies collaborative, and a member of the National Committee on United States-China Relations. Her current projects include developing a new volume of The China Questions focused on business in China and researching political identity in the Taiwan Strait.
