Jennifer Reeves

Jennifer Reeves is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing at Sam Houston State University (SHSU). She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from the University of Texas at Austin (2023), a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Texas Health Science Center, Houston, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Texas State University. Her professional practice includes emergency care and pediatrics since 2015.

Dr. Reeves’ research interests focus on nursing education, mental health among young people, emergency care, and health equity advocacy. She emphasizes fostering student potential through creative, collaborative, and encouraging educational approaches. At SHSU, she has taught since Fall 2020, engaging students in clinical settings, labs, and course coordination.

Her expertise spans Family Nurse Practitioner roles, emergency care, and pediatric nursing. She is committed to bridging academic and clinical excellence to support nursing students’ holistic development.
