Jennifer R. Brown

Jennifer R. Brown, MD, PhD, is the Director of the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) Center at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) and the Worthington and Margaret Collette Professor of Medicine in Hematologic Oncology at Harvard Medical School. She specializes in CLL research, clinical care, and translational medicine. Her work focuses on novel targeted therapies, CLL genomics, and inherited predispositions to leukemia.

Dr. Brown earned her B.S. and M.S. from Yale University, followed by her M.D. and Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from Harvard Medical School. She completed residency and fellowships at Massachusetts General Hospital and DFCI. Since joining DFCI in 2004, she has led groundbreaking research in CLL, contributing to the development of therapies like idelalisib, ibrutinib, and zanubrutinib.

Her research interests include CLL genomics, drug resistance mechanisms, and the tumor microenvironment. She holds leadership roles in international CLL workshops and has authored over 335 peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Brown has received prestigious awards, including DFCI’s Clinical Innovation and George Canellos Awards, and is recognized globally as a CLL expert.

Her clinical and research efforts emphasize improving patient outcomes through precision medicine, with a focus on combination therapies and long-term follow-up studies. She leads DFCI’s CLL Center, integrating clinical care, research, and patient advocacy.
