Jennifer R Butler

Dr. Jennifer R Butler is an Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at UCI School of Medicine. She serves as Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs, Director of the OB/GYN Hospitalist Division, and Director of Perinatal Operations and Strategy. Her roles include overseeing obstetric hospitalist services and residency training. She holds board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is an examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.

Education: MD from the University of Virginia School of Medicine, followed by residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the same institution.

Research interests focus on improving patient safety, labor and delivery practices, and quality metrics in obstetrics. Her work emphasizes reducing unnecessary cesarean deliveries and optimizing vaginal birth outcomes.

Notable awards include the Top Doctors in North Carolina (2009), multiple teaching awards, and recognition as a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association (2020–2023).

Dr. Butler’s clinical practice at UCI Medical Center in Orange, CA, specializes in maternity and gynecology care. She maintains active involvement in residency education as Associate Residency Director.
