Dr. Jennifer Phillips is the Director of Clinical Training and an Associate Professor in the School of Psychology at Xavier University. She earned her Ph.D. in Clinical-Health Psychology from the University of Pittsburgh, completed an internship at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the Dayton VA. She maintains a private clinical practice alongside her academic role.
Her research examines social inequities in health, focusing on cardiovascular disease in LGBTQ communities and mindfulness-based interventions to reduce burnout among healthcare professionals. As a research consultant for the Cincinnati VA Whole Health program, she facilitates graduate student research. Clinical specialties include:
- Wellness promotion and chronic illness management
- Caregiver stress and end-of-life support
- LGBTQ issues (social stress, discrimination, family dynamics)
