Jennifer Mullen

Jennifer Mullen is a Senior Lecturer and Professional Experience Coordinator in the Department of Marketing and Operations at Indiana State University’s Scott College of Business. Her teaching focuses on public relations, marketing, and hybrid courses emphasizing public speaking, group dynamics, and real-world problem-solving. She actively integrates community service into her curriculum, fostering student engagement with local organizations like the Twelve Points Revitalization project and the Lemon Club, a branch of Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

Mullen’s research interests center on collaborative learning, community revitalization, and philanthropy. She emphasizes building professional portfolios through service projects, such as organizing virtual 5ks for charities and promoting local events like Taste of Twelve Points. Her classes prioritize student voice and experiential learning, blending academic rigor with practical application.

Her community involvements include co-founding the Twelve Points Revitalization nonprofit, which aims to restore Terre Haute’s historic district through cleanup efforts, grant-funded initiatives, and cultural events. She also serves on boards for Trees, Inc., Keep Terre Haute Beautiful, United Way’s Neighborhood Development Impact Council, and Camp Navigate. In 2019, she was honored as a recipient of the Tribune-Star’s Women in Business award for her leadership in community development and education.

Mullen advises students on internship opportunities and mentors them through service-oriented projects, advocating for proactive relationship-building to achieve career and community goals. Her approach blends academic excellence with civic responsibility, empowering students to create tangible impacts in their communities.
