Jennifer MacDonald is a Research Fellow in the Nursing department at Glasgow Caledonian University. She holds a BSc in Psychology from University of Stirling (2006), an MSc in Health Psychology from the same institution (2010), and completed her PhD at GCU in 2017 focusing on condom use intentions among older adults using the Reasoned Action Approach.
Her research integrates psychological theories with infection prevention, specializing in behavioral change interventions for sexual health and antimicrobial stewardship. Current projects include optimizing HIV PrEP implementation in Scotland and developing digital health interventions for sexually transmitted infection contact tracing.
Publications demonstrate strong focus on digital health solutions, mindfulness interventions for stroke survivors, and antimicrobial stewardship workforce challenges during COVID-19. Her work frequently employs mixed-methods approaches and systematic reviews to inform practical healthcare solutions.
