About
Dr. Jennifer Lawrence is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at Ohio Dominican University. She holds a Ph.D. in Microbiology & Molecular Genetics from Loma Linda University. Her research focuses on the epigenetic effects of environmental exposures, particularly nicotine's impact on cardiovascular systems and asthma development. Current work explores plant extracts against drug-resistant bacteria.
Dr. Lawrence has published extensively on fetal and neonatal nicotine exposure effects, including cardiovascular vulnerability and epigenetic modifications. Recent work (2017–2018) addresses urban air pollution's role in asthma methylation patterns. Her teaching spans Biology, Chemistry, and related fields, with office hours Tuesdays/Thursdays 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Key research themes include:
- Nicotine-induced epigenetic changes
- Perinatal environmental exposures
- Cardiovascular developmental programming
- Antimicrobial resistance solutions
Labs/Teams: Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams on asthma and cardiovascular projects. No specific lab named in text.
