Jennifer Kay serves as Associate Professor and Chair of Music Performance at Ithaca College's School of Music, Theatre, and Dance since 2005. She holds a Bachelor of Music from Ithaca College and Master's/Doctoral degrees in Voice Performance from Boston University.
Her research focuses on vocal performance practices, specializing in French song literature, diction, and early music repertoire. As an active mezzo-soprano, she performs with Rochester's Publick Musick ensemble at major festivals including Bloomington Early Music Festival and has recorded Bach Lutheran Masses. Her scholarly work examines American art song through upcoming publications on Howard Boatwright.
Dr. Kay's performance career includes solo appearances at Rochester Bach Festival and Hamilton College, with recitals broadcast on WCNY radio. She previously taught at Syracuse University and Boston University Tanglewood Institute, and participated in NATS intern programs with leading vocal pedagogues.
