Jennifer K. Gilbert Jenkins

Jennifer K. Gilbert Jenkins, Ph.D., is a faculty member in the Division of Animal & Plant Sciences & Agricultural Business at SUNY Morrisville's School of Agriculture, Business & Technology. Her research focuses on soil health, agricultural sustainability, and hemp applications for phytoremediation. Prior to joining SUNY Morrisville in 2015, she taught at Villanova University and Westtown School.

• Educated at SUNY Buffalo (B.S. Environmental Studies, 1999), UConn (M.S. Natural Resource Management and Engineering: Water, 2003), and University of Delaware (Ph.D. Environmental Soil Chemistry, 2008)

Her work integrates soil chemistry with practical agricultural solutions, emphasizing urban food systems and hemp cultivation. Dr. Gilbert Jenkins actively incorporates her research into coursework and supports student-led projects, maintaining an open-door policy marked by her signature hospitality of offering chocolate to students.
