Jennifer K. Barton

Jennifer K. Barton is a Professor of Optical Sciences and Director of the BIO5 Institute at The University of Arizona. She holds joint appointments in the Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering.

Her research focuses on optical imaging techniques, particularly optical coherence tomography (OCT), for biomedical applications. Additional areas include laser-tissue interaction and the development of bioinstrumentation tools for improved diagnostics and therapies.

Dr. Barton is affiliated with the Tissue Optics Laboratory and collaborates across multiple engineering disciplines to advance medical imaging technologies.
