Dr. Jennifer Jones is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Rhode Island, specializing in Romantic-era literature (1770–1840) and critical theory. Her research explores aesthetic form, historicity, sublimity, and consolation, with a focus on trans-historical intellectual histories and interdisciplinary approaches. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a B.A. (Summa Cum Laude) from UC Santa Cruz. Before URI, she was a Woodrow Wilson Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Research & Publications: Jones authored Wordsworth’s Chaucer: Romanticism, Translation, and the Poetics of Consolation (under review), edited The Sublime and Education, and contributed peer-reviewed essays to journals like Studies in Romanticism, Neophilologus, and The Wordsworth Circle. Her work reinterprets Wordsworth’s legacy through theories of consolation and translation.
