Jennifer Johnson

Jennifer Johnson is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Accounting at the University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), affiliated with the Jindal School of Management. She specializes in teaching accounting information systems, cost management, and software applications like QuickBooks and Excel.

Education: BBA and MS in Accounting from Texas A&M University (1995 and 1996 respectively). Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Global Management Accountant (CGMA).

Research focuses on integrating technology into accounting education, including co-authorship of Computerized Accounting with QuickBooks Online. Awards include the 2020 Outstanding Undergraduate Teaching Award and TXCPA’s 2017 Accounting Educator of the Year.

Prior industry experience includes roles as an auditor at PwC, Assistant Controller at a financial services firm, and Finance Manager at Dr Pepper Snapple Group. Active in professional organizations such as the Texas Society of CPAs (TXCPA) and the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).

Volunteers for TXCPA and chairs the Dallas Chapter’s Sponsorship Committee. Engaged in promoting accounting systems as tools for business communication.
