Jennifer Fugate, PhD is an Associate Professor of Health Services Psychology at Kansas City University. She directs the ABLE (affective, behavior, learning and embodiment) Lab and researches emotion perception, particularly how language constructs emotional experience. Her work includes examining emotion words' cognitive effects, developing emotion granularity training, and applying embodied cognition principles to education.
Fugate co-edited 'Movement Matters: How Embodied Cognition Informs Teaching and Learning' (MIT Press), among the top ten downloaded books through Direct2Open. Her recent articles explore therapeutic applications of embodied cognition and emotional language interventions.
