Jennifer Conley

Jennifer Conley is an Associate Professor of Dance, Department Chair of Theatre & Dance, and Co-Director of the Dance Program at Franklin and Marshall College. She also serves as guest faculty at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance in New York City. Her career spans over two decades as a performer and scholar, specializing in reviving 20th-century modern dance works. She has performed with renowned companies like the Martha Graham Dance Company and Pearl Lang Dance Theatre, and co-founded Deborah Zall's Company of Women.

Conley's research focuses on dance reconstruction methodologies, Martha Graham's legacy, and Earth-based imagery in performance. She has directed works for the Martha Graham Center and estates of Pearl Lang and Ethel Winter. Her scholarly contributions are published internationally. As an educator, she mentors emerging dancers through regie work and guest teaching roles.

Her professional engagements include performances at the 92nd St Y, Lincoln Center, and the Library of Congress. She balances her academic leadership with freelance performance and preservation of modern dance heritage.
