About
Dr. Jennifer Clarke is the Fletcher Jones Endowed Professor of Biology at the University of La Verne's College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a PhD in Zoology from Washington State University, an MA in Zoology from the University of Montana, and a BA in Zoology/Education from Miami University.
Her behavioral ecology research focuses on animal communication for conservation and the effects of light pollution on nocturnal species. She has studied diverse taxa including bison, elk, Tasmanian devils, flying foxes, dingoes, and tigers across North America, Australia, and Southeast Asia.
Dr. Clarke's publications demonstrate methodological innovation in bioacoustics and field ecology, with recent work examining mother-offspring communication in bison and vocal dialects in translocated elk populations. Her research integrates conservation science with behavioral observation to address anthropogenic impacts on wildlife.
