Dr. Jennifer Chambers is an Associate Professor at the University of the Cumberlands. A first-generation college graduate from Eastern Kentucky University (EKU), she has 15 years of experience as an elementary classroom teacher and served as an Adjunct Professor in EKU's Department of English from 2004 to 2012. Her current work includes authoring a second textbook and her first children’s book.
Her expertise focuses on cultural competency, educational best practices, reading achievement, and leadership. She has delivered workshops and presentations nationwide, authored articles on school culture and reading achievement, and co-authored the textbook Becoming a Culturally Competent Educator. Dr. Chambers is also trained as a facilitator for the Missouri Community Action Network Poverty Simulation and has conducted culture assessments for Kentucky school districts.
She holds a leadership role in advancing educational equity and pedagogical strategies, emphasizing practical applications in K-12 environments. Her recent projects reflect a commitment to bridging theory and practice in education.
