Jennifer Cera

Jennifer Cera is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) College of Nursing, where she co-coordinates the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program. She practices in Urogynecology at Nebraska Medicine, focusing on pelvic floor disorders, continence care, and healthcare innovation.

Her research explores 3D-Virtual Reality pelvic anatomy models for education, community-based continence care, and reduced-dose treatments for incontinence. She has developed interprofessional VR curricula and evaluated its efficacy in student/patient education.

Recent awards include the 2024 BioImages Merit Award, 2024 Faculty Daisy Award, and 2022 iEXCEL Academic Innovation Award for her VR model work. She advises doctoral students, including Taylor Hedgecock, and leads simulation curricula in Women’s Health programs.
