Jennifer Blaylock is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radio, Television & Film at Rowan University, affiliated with the Ric Edelman College of Communication & Creative Arts. She holds a Ph.D. in Film & Media Studies from the University of California, Berkeley, an M.A. in Moving Image Archiving & Preservation from New York University, and additional degrees from UC Berkeley.
Her research focuses on African media histories, particularly Ghana, with an emphasis on audiovisual archives, postcolonial theory, and UNESCO's role in shaping African broadcast networks. Dr. Blaylock's current book project, *The Promise of New Media*, examines racial dimensions in media conceptions across African colonial and postcolonial contexts. She teaches courses like *The Global Television Industry* and integrates archival practices into her pedagogy.
Her publications explore media technology’s socio-political dimensions, gender representation in African broadcasting, and global media pedagogy. She actively engages with themes of cultural preservation and decolonizing media narratives.
