Jennifer Baker

Jennifer Baker is a Vice-Chancellor's Research Fellow at the University of Wollongong (since 2024), with prior roles as a Fulbright Postdoctoral Fellow at the Scripps Research Institute (2024) and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Newcastle (2020–2024). She holds a PhD in Medicinal Chemistry (University of Newcastle, 2020) and undergraduate degrees in Science and Chemistry (University of Newcastle, 2016).

Her research focuses on developing small molecules targeting cancer, leveraging in silico modeling, structural biology (e.g., cryo-EM), and flow chemistry. Key areas include histone demethylase KDM4 and Arylhydrocarbon Receptor inhibition. She has secured grants such as the AI-driven Design Grant (UoW, 2024–2026) and the Fulbright Fellowship.

Jennifer has taught introductory chemistry courses (e.g., CHEM1010, CHEM1120) and contributed to outreach programs like Experiment Fest. She currently supervises Masters and PhD students in medicinal chemistry and drug design.
