Jennifer Amilivia

Dr. Jennifer Amilivia is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Counseling, Higher Education, and Special Education at the University of Maryland's College of Education. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Kansas (2020) and has experience as an early childhood educator at the University of Michigan’s North Campus Childcare Care Center. Her research focuses on early intervention, family-professional partnerships, cultural and linguistic diversity, and teacher professional development.

Dr. Amilivia teaches courses in Early Childhood/Early Childhood Special Education, including EDSP 210, EDSP 433, and EDSP 626. She is actively involved in policy advocacy through roles in the Division for Early Childhood (DEC) and serves as a consultant for the Early Childhood Intervention Personnel Development Equity Center. Her recent scholarship emphasizes inclusive education frameworks and the impacts of collaborative decision-making with diverse populations.

Key grants include leading a study on the impacts of COVD-19 on family-professional partnerships in early intervention and contributing to the Equity Center as a consultant. She advocates for equitable practices in early childhood education through her teaching, research, and professional service roles.
