Jennifer Amato, PsyD serves as an Attending Pediatric Neuropsychologist in the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program and holds an academic appointment at Harvard Medical School. She is affiliated with the Department of Otolaryngology and Communication Enhancement at Boston Children's Hospital in Waltham, Massachusetts, where she provides specialized neuropsychological services for children with hearing impairments.
Dr. Amato completed her undergraduate education at Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire, followed by graduate studies at Antioch University New England. Her clinical training includes a Neuropsychology internship at Kennedy Krieger Institute, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Fellowship in Pediatric Neuropsychology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire.
Her clinical expertise focuses on pediatric neuropsychological assessment and intervention for deaf and hard of hearing children. As part of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program, she collaborates with a multidisciplinary team including otolaryngologists, audiologists, and speech-language pathologists to provide comprehensive care for children with hearing loss of conductive or sensorineural etiology.
Dr. Amato works within one of the nation's largest pediatric otolaryngology departments, which comprises 16 otolaryngologists, 19 physician assistants, 2 nurse practitioners, 38 audiologists, 53 speech language pathologists, and 4 psychologists. The department serves over 25,000 otolaryngology patients and 38,000 communication enhancement patients annually across Boston and five suburban clinic sites, performing more than 6,000 surgical procedures each year.
