Jenna Fisher

Jenna Fisher holds dual roles as a first-year doctoral student at the Missouri School of Journalism and an assistant professor at Principia College in Elsah, IL. At Principia, she serves as adviser to the college newspaper while teaching reporting, writing, photojournalism, and media literacy courses. Her research centers on media effects with specific focus on news literacy's relationship to misinformation, fake news, and conspiracy theory dissemination.

• Bachelor of Communications from Virginia Tech

Fisher integrates 15 years of professional journalism experience into her teaching methodology, having worked half her career as an editor/writer for The Christian Science Monitor and half as a Boston metro area reporter. She currently contributes as a New York Times stringer for St. Louis breaking news, emphasizing critical thinking development to prepare students for complex media landscapes.

Her scholarly engagement extends to Missouri School of Journalism activities including AEJMC conference participation where institutional research is presented.
