Jenna Clake

Dr. Jenna Clake is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Writing at Teesside University's School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Law. She holds a PhD in Creative Writing from the University of Birmingham and specializes in contemporary British/American poetry, fiction, and the relationship between writing and popular culture.

Research Interests: Her work explores feminist writing, surrealism in literature, trauma narratives, and the intersection of poetry with popular culture. She has particular expertise in absurdist literature and feminist literary criticism.

Academic Leadership: Course Leader for MA Creative Writing (Online) and MA Creative Writing and Wellbeing. Current PhD supervision includes projects on literary festivals, writing for cancer survivors, and place-based narratives. Leads AHRC-funded projects developing publishing networks.
