Jenifer Elmore is a Professor of English and Associate Dean of Arts and Humanities at the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences. She co-coordinates the Faith, Roots, and Reason Program and teaches courses in American literature before 1900, narratology, grammar and composition, and Super Honors courses.

Her research focuses on American and British writers of the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, examining how their works intersect with faith, politics, social critique, and reform movements like anti-slavery and women’s rights. She has presented at academic conferences such as the Society for the Study of American Women Writers, American Literature Association, and the Catharine Maria Sedgwick Society, where she serves as First Vice President.

Dr. Elmore lives in Wellington with her husband, Charles (a journalist at The Palm Beach Post), and their teenage son. She is a ministry leader and school board member at St. David’s Episcopal Church. Her two adult daughters are a graduate student in biology at Harvard University and a registered nurse at Duke University Medical Center.
