Jenay M. Beer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Health Promotion and Behavior at the University of Georgia's College of Public Health and serves as Associate Director of the Institute of Gerontology. Her work bridges social science and technology to improve health outcomes for older adults, particularly those with dementia or at risk for cognitive decline. She specializes in evaluating technology interventions, such as web-applications and robotics, to support aging-in-place and rural healthcare access.
Dr. Beer co-directs the Cognitive Aging Research and Education (CARE) Center, an interdisciplinary initiative focused on dementia diagnosis, care, and education for rural Georgians. Her research portfolio includes over 60 peer-reviewed publications on technology usability, adoption, and rural health equity. In 2019, she was honored as an inaugural UGA Innovation Fellow.
