Jen Beverly

Jen Beverly is an Associate Professor in the Department of Renewable Resources at the University of Alberta. Her work bridges wildfire behavior analysis with community resilience strategies, focusing on tools adopted by FireSmart Canada to mitigate wildfire risks. She integrates interdisciplinary approaches across environmental science, emergency management, and Indigenous leadership.

• Education: Honours BES from University of Waterloo, MSc and PhD from University of Toronto.

Her research examines wildfire risk assessment, directional fire spread modeling, and fuel treatment optimization. Recent projects include analyzing wildfire pathways, anthropogenic barriers to fire spread, and vulnerability of communications infrastructure. She also collaborates on public health studies related to long COVID.
