About
Jeffry B. Stock is a Professor of Molecular Biology at Princeton University, with over 150 scientific publications. His research focuses on signal transduction mechanisms, particularly the regulation of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A), and its translational applications in dermatology and neurodegenerative diseases. He has pioneered work on PP2A methylation/demethylation pathways and developed therapies targeting skin inflammation and Alzheimer's/Parkinson's diseases. He holds a B.A. and Ph.D. in Biophysics and Biochemistry from Johns Hopkins University.
Research Interests: Dr. Stock's work spans basic molecular biology (e.g., bacterial two-component signaling systems) and translational drug discovery. Key areas include:
- PP2A regulatory mechanisms in chronic diseases
- Pharmaceutical modulation of inflammation and neurodegeneration
- Development of topical anti-inflammatories and neuroprotective agents
Notable Achievements: Founded biotech firms like Signum Biosciences Group; discovered coffee-derived neuroprotective agents; Humboldt Prize winner and AAAS Fellow. His lab's innovations include SIG-1451 (neurodegeneration therapy) and HYVIA™ (skin hydration).
Professional Roles: Serves on the National Institute of Drug Abuse Review Committee. Advises multiple startups and leads interdisciplinary projects at the Lewis Thomas Laboratory.
