Jeffrey Wimer

Jeffrey Wimer serves as Senior Lecturer and Manager of the Student Logging Program in Oregon State University's College of Forestry, Department of Forest Engineering, Resources & Management. He holds the Richard Strachan Faculty Scholar of Logging Technology position and teaches FE 472: Mechanized Harvesting and Simulations.

His research focuses on engineering solutions for sustainable forestry, particularly steep slope operations, harvesting systems, logging safety, and forest transportation. Professional affiliations include presidency roles in the Oregon Logging Conference and Pacific Logging Congress.

Recent publications demonstrate consistent focus on safety and efficiency improvements for cable-assisted equipment in challenging terrain, with emphasis on soil conservation and operational productivity in Pacific Northwest forests.
