Jeffrey William Pollard is a Professor at the University of Edinburgh, where he has been employed since 2012, and an Affiliated Professor at the Cancer Cluster Bergen (CCBIO), Norway. Previously, he held the Emeritus Louis Goldstein Swan Chair at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, New York, USA, following a distinguished career there from 1988 to 2020.

Pollard's research focuses on the tumour microenvironment, macrophages in tissue repair, and their roles in breast cancer, endometrial cancer, ovarian cancer, and glioblastoma. He has made seminal contributions to understanding macrophage biology in development and the interplay between female reproductive hormones and cancer progression.
